Newsbrief 107 28 November 2023 GLADMANS : PLANNING COMMITTEE DECEMBER 4 2023
CLOUD members, especially those living in the Hala area, will no doubt be aware that Gladmans first submitted an outline planning application in 2019 and amended it in 2022 and again this autumn. 19/01135/OUT | is for 644 dwellings houses on the greenfield site between Bailrigg Lane and Hala. Since then consideration of the application by the City Council’s planning committee has been repeatedly deferred. However its time has now come and this application will be considered at the next planning committee meeting at 10.30 am at Morecambe Town Hall on 4th December 2023.
CLOUD has submitted detailed objections as have numerous local residents. Our original objections were in December 2019 and to an amended version in July 2022. The majority of our concerns remain as have those of numerous local residents. The CIty planning department has now completed their evaluation and is recommending to the planning committee that the application should be refused. This is obviously very welcome and the detailed evaluation is available here :
In addition to all this, we are aware that several local residents are intending to exercise their right to address the planning committee on 4th December, speaking on a range of concerns and objections. If you want to add your voice it is not too late the deadline for registering to speak is 12.00pm 30th November.
If you want to speak, you need to email the Council's Democracy Department on publicspeaking@lancaster.gov.uk, giving your contact details (name, telephone number and address), the planning application number (19/01135/OUT) and whether your representation is in favour or against the planning application.
