Lancaster City Council has just announced that the dates for the examination hearings on the Local Plan have been confirmed. Until now we have only had provisional dates. As previously advised, the Planning Inspector who will conduct these hearings is Richard McCoy, BSc MSc Dip TP MRTPI IHBC. He will begin his public examination into the soundness of the Lancaster Local Plan on 9th April 2019. These hearings will provide CLOUD (and others who have submitted objections) with the opportunity to state their case against the Local Plan and explain why we consider it to be unsound.
You can read the Council’s announcement about the examination hearings on their website at : http://www.lancaster.gov.uk/planning/planning-policy/examination-stage
The key dates and venues for the hearings are :
Week 1: Tuesday 9 April 2019 to Thursday 11 April 2019
Week 2: Wednesday 24 April 2019 to Friday 26 April 2019
Week 3 (reserve dates, if required): Tuesday 30 April 2019, Wednesday 1 May 2019 and Friday 3 May 2019.
The venue for the hearing sessions will be Morecambe Town Hall, Marine Road East, Morecambe LA4 5AF However on Wednesday 10 April 2019 the venue will be the Storey Institute, Meeting House Lane, Lancaster LA1 1TH. Hearings will commence at 10.00am.
We await the draft hearing programme showing which objectors will be heard on which dates. This programme is due to be published on the Council’s website as soon as it is available. We will provide further news to CLOUD members as soon as we have it. In the meantime CLOUD is preparing for the most crucial phase so far of our campaign against the Local Plan and Bailrigg Garden Village.
Best wishes,
Tony and Mary Breakell
